How to update your KYC document of EPF Account online

The EPF account member can update the KYC documents through online using UAN Member Portal. They must have their login credentials in order to login at UAN Member Portal to update their Know Your Customer (KYC) documents.

The option is provided at UAN member portal for EPF members to upload their KYC documents online. This privileged access will help them to update the account information from home or office. The information like AADHAAR and Bank Account Number can be updated at anytime. In case any document was not submitted during the EPF account registration, it time to take advantage of Universal Account Number.




The proper KYC document completed EPF accounts will be benefited during transfer of service without any troubles. The account which does not have updated Bank information may result in rejection during withdrawal. The member will not able to receive SMS alerts about account update details on every month if none of the KYC document is submitted. The member has to submitting the Bank account number is the only solution to subscribe SMS alert. The following 8 documents are considered as KYC documents of EPF account:
  1. Permanent Account Number
  2. AADHAAR
  3. Ration Card
  4. Passport
  5. Driving License
  6. Election Card
  7. Bank Account Number/ IFSC
  8. National Population Register (NPR)
How to update KYC documents?

Step 1: Login at UAN member portal, then under ‘Profile’ menu choose ‘Update KYC Information’.


Step 2: Now, upload the scanned copy of your KYC documents. The system allows to upload up to 8 specified documents as mentioned above. The scanned documents should be in .JPEG/.GIF/.PNG/.PDF format. The file size of scanned document should not exceed more than 300 KB.

Step 3: After uploading your documents, you can see the status as ‘Pending’ on the same page, why because the employer has to approve the uploaded KYC documents. Once the uploaded documents are approved by the employer, the employee can see the verification status as ‘Approved by Employer’.

How to change Bank Account Number in PF account?

The EPF account member can change their Bank account number of EPF account through online submission of KYC documents. They have to type IFSC code along with Bank Account Number in respective boxes and then upload the scanned copy of cancelled cheque leaf which belongs to the mentioned Bank account number. This option is useful especially for those who wants to change their Bank account number against the previously submitted Bank account number which was given during the registration of EPF account.


Can I upload scanned documents directly at online?

No. The member need to get attestation on the photocopy of KYC document first before scanning the KYC documents. The documents such as PAN, AADHAAR, Passport, Election Card, Ration Card, Driving License and NPR need to be attested on uploaded file for smoother approval. In case, if you are going to upload Ration Card, the first page of the ration card with attestation is acceptable. The expiry date of the Passport and Driving License is required while uploading the file.
